about
Dimitris Androniadis (b. 1991) is a Greek composer and sound artist based in Athens. His work spans concert music, music theatre and electroacoustic composition. Each piece grows out of a specific context, such as a text, a place or a sound. He brings his classical training to electronics, ambisonics and algorithmic processes, and recently to space and resonance.
His works have been performed at the Greek National Opera’s Alternative Stage, the Athens Megaron, the Goethe-Institut Athens, the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses and Bled Festival Hall, by ensembles and performers including the Athens State Orchestra, Adrian Thompson, Stephen Gutman and Angelika Papanikolaou. In 2026 he won first prizes at the “Sarah Leonard” songwriting competition and the “Vicky Stylianou” solo piano competition. In 2023 the Athens Conservatory invited him to write a new work for the Greek National Opera’s Kalomiris tribute concert, and his music for the short film Gloria has screened at more than 25 festivals.
He studied piano at the National Conservatory and composition at the Athens Conservatory, both with first prizes, and completed postgraduate studies in composition with Periklis Koukos in 2026. He also works as a collaborative pianist, arranger, producer and mixing engineer, with credits including the Grammy-nominated band Jabali Afrika and a Telly Award-winning Mercedes-Benz campaign. He runs ArsNova, a studio for opera and art song recording.
